Kirby101. I have that issue and the cover dazzled me then, it still dazzles me now, Sue's horrid peek-a-boo costume (and front and center no less) notwithstading.

Honorable mention to PaulBullion for that Vision cover.

It's the use of a metalic foil on a cardboard cover.
What Kirby posted technically was something different, those shimmering foils were called holo-grafx covers.

Congratulations to MRP for a marvelous entry which did an admirable job in maintaining the cover look without sacrificing the perks added with the deluxe chromium finish. George is a god.

In this "Peak of the Week", the captain has been reminded of the past when companies added all sorts of bells and whistles to sell funny books. Chromium was one of many gimmicks used and was arguably one of the best. Along with things like bullet holes and metallic inks (silver and gold, silver and gold, everyone wishes for silver and gold...), we are also left with fankids desperately trying a fit a plastic black diamond into the long boxes. Seriously.

Along with their winning choice, I also want to thank MRP for their good taste while voting. Thank you!

    Yay, MRP!
And thanks for bringing back all that 90s commercialism, everyone!

Thanks for the votes for Perez all, it's appreciated. New contest will be up as soon as I get a topic that hasn't been used before (or at least not in a looong time).
