Zuck just copying other platforms again. It’s funny someone mentioned the porn bots on Twitter, because the anti-LGBTQ moderation on Meta and Google owned platforms is what got and keeps me on Twitter and off them. Meta will moderate itself into irrelevance like Google+ did. Enough of the people I follow on Twitter have content that gets banned on those platforms. After the Tumblr purge, Twitter became the place for LGBTQ creators and artists. Yeah, I have to stumble on some gross hetero sex and porn bots, but it’s worth it.

Don't worry. Mr Musk will finish chasing the LGBTQ community off twitter soon enough.

Came across this talking about how You Tube is lessening the promotions for small creators ( although this has been happening for the last several years) and cutting their income but now asking for them to pay to be promoted in the algorithm

Social media giant Twitter appeared to apply a five-second delay that would slow access to sites – a process known as throttling – including to the New York Times, Reuters, Instagram and Blue Sky, another social network, the Washington Post reported on Tuesday.

The sites with slowed links included competitors to Twitter and news publications that have been on Twitter owner Elon Musk’s bad side due to critical reporting. The Washington Post tested the delays and found that if someone clicked a link on Twitter that would send them to another site, the link would open to a blank screen that lasted for a few seconds.

It's not good for one man, and especially that man, to hold such power over information.

I tried to post a comment to the NYT once suggesting that Musk is making Twitter what Truth Social is to Trump, his own personal ego trip and plaything. Musk isn't running Twitter, or X as he likes to call it now, as a business. It's more a a place where he can hang out with the people he likes and gradually push out those he doesn't.

The Retweets are now called Reposts. I haven't seen "porn-bots" recently, and the regular bots have decreased, although they're still there. "Bitcoin" liked one of my tweets not long ago.

I see porn (or romance) bots all the time. They often "Like" an tweet of mine from months ago to get me to check their profiles. Plus the gofundme bots are very annoying.

A few months ago I said something about Ethan specifically and a small handful of his fans decided to reply, but it didn't get too bad. I'm thinking this time it might have been cuz I responded to a similar anti-SJW/comics grifter, but to tell the truth who knows why he's in my timeline now? A couple months ago Michael Jackson related stuff was showing up almost everyday for like two weeks. I hadn't posted, retweeted, or liked anything about Michael Jackson, but there he was...I'm guessing I probably did like something else R and B related and Twitter just decided "Here's a ton of Michael Jackson for you!"

I have a Facebook, an Instagram and Nextdoor account.

Facebook is great for keeping up with my family. I live in the U.S and my entire family is in Australia so I really appreciate that it allows me to keep up with their lives and vice versa. I only really have Instagram because my wife is a photographer and posts a lot of her stuff there, I barely post there at all. I have the Nextdoor account just to keep my finger on the pulse as to the shenanigans that occur in my neighborhood, I only post there when I too have shenanigans to share: lost dogs, sketchy people etc.
