I must say I loved seeing old school Laura again. The story looks to be kinda predictable but Im still up for it because see my first point. Though I must say it's kinda crazy how guillable some people are. I get being blinded by rage and vengeance but man if you are going to tell me this Haymaker guy isn't suspicious of Kimura and her bosses at all then I don't really know. It's hard to be even more shady then these guys.

This book is set BEFORE she first met up with Gambit. Looks like it's right after she left Utopia after the first arc of Liu's book.

Quick question, is this taking place during the current era of X-men? Also curious how Kimura is back after she was drowned the last time we saw her...unless this is before that happened.

It's a flashback series set in the Utopia era, before Kimura died.

    NOT his finest (wink) hour.

I am sincerely happy for all the Laura fans this story spoke to.

Decent first issue. Nothing outstanding but good enough to get me to buy the next issue.

Seeing Julian with Laura, even in just a panel, made me so happy. Still criminal how they've wasted the potential of all the NXM/Academy characters.

That with the cyclical nature of the Big 2, with Spider-Man, The Bat Family, Doctor Doom, Deathstroke and the X-Men has made me so pessimistic about their comics now. We need stories that seriously progress characters forward, and if a character stops being used it's because that character is dead, has had they're journey finished or just doesn't make sense to be in that story. Instead we either get characters whose stories get upended, so a new creator write whatever they want to write with whatever temporary OCs they want (X-Men) or the characters are forced into a holding pattern of stagnation for decades because of the status quo (also X-Men, but mainly Spider-Man and The Bat Family).

    End of rant.

Looks like Deadly Regenisis #1 is going back for a second printing.

    Sounds like a good sign.

Sweet, looks like it is. I'm looking forward to seeing the variant:
