Bit of a mix of early Cassie and Artemis is what I got.
Still not really big on Jon and Damien, some of the dialogue makes it come off like they raised her.
It's all still a prologue so hard to gauge without knowing where King's going but I'm intrigued enough. My guess is whoever the "King" Lizzie was talking to is somehow related to the "mysterious new Amazon" villain in the first arc (maybe even the same person)
I actually liked Lizzie and her dynamics with Jon and Damian though, I guess, if there was some series about three of them (not in WW ongoing, lol), I would read it.
It's hard to predict, what exactly King is planning here, and who she was talking to, but I'm intrigued.
I really hate the whole "we're family" stuff and blah. It bores me, I don't believe it and it seems false and forced (and yes I dont like Damien and Jon, sorry not sorry).
I also don't like that implicit thing that in 19 years Clark, Bruce and Diana seem to no longer exist on the face of the Earth.
America was "killed" in a war? I don't believe all that apocalyptic chatter either, it doesn't make sense, it will never happen, and even less in an insular series, it hasn't even happened in the Crises.
All those future things should be reserved for Black Label or some series about a possible future, not Diana's regular series.
And yes, I'm curious about that King and what the hell happened. Tom King is good at building maxi series in his own universe, many times destroying the personalities of the characters, I hope that doesn't happen with Diana, because we're talking about an ongoing, not a WHAT IF story...
I wouldn't like the Azzarello thing happen again, which I take as if it were an elseworlds, we don't deserve that in Diana's ongoing.
I was hyped for this run but everything since Trinity was announced is killing the hype for me.
Writing about comics https://bookofhsssh.blogspot.com
The whole Trinity plotline feels like set up for a time travel arc. I'm guessing she learns her origins from the imprisoned king (regardless of his identity, would he even tell her the truth?) and she goes back in time to prevent whatever's happening in the future.
Most of Lizzies story was already spoiled so nothing surprising there but interested to see how it plays out.
Not sure just yet how I feel about Lizzie's whole "I'm better than you, deal with it" schtick, but so far the premise is intriguing.
For when my rants on the forums just aren’t enough: https://thevindicativevordan.tumblr.com/
Really enjoyed King’s story and the art was just beautiful! I’m looking forward to September!
Currently(or soon to be) Reading: Alan Scott: Green Lantern, Batman/Superman: World's Finest, Fire & Ice: Welcome to Smallville, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Jay Garrick: The Flash, Justice Society of America, Power Girl, Superman, Shazam, Titans, Wesley Dodds: Sandman, Wonder Woman, & World's Finest: Teen Titans.
Well, I think I didn't read a writer on Wonder Woman presenting an interesting beginning-to-end-of-the-run story since ages. Not going to say "will read" because I'll read it anyways, but check me intrigued.
