Default Superman (1978) returning to theaters in April

In the U.S., the Richard Donner Superman is returning to (some) theaters in April. Not sure how widespread this is. I hope it's not just major cities.

Awesome! I saw it in last theatrical re-release, which must have been the big anniversary in 2018. They even tossed in a Fleischer short before the film for good measure.

The Fleischer shorts are also getting a blu ray release.

Hm. I may go watch it. Just to see the first flight scene, I thought it would look better on the big screen than TV.

Yeah, I’m planning on snagging that too.

I hope anyone going to see this movie for the first time goes in with an open mind. I love the movie, but I wouldn't be shocked if a kid saw it today and thought Superman was yesterday's lame superhero.

I kind of worry about that too. Some of the special effects haven't aged well.

I show the movie regularly to kids and it works every damned time...if they're young enough. As soon as they hit their cynical teens, the film is too hokey for them.
