Panther is.. um.. not doing great these days. Is the best way to phrase that. Like once the Avengers series catches up with his solo title... yeeeaaaahhh.

Edit: I mean, no, he still has his basically usual capacity, but he is solidly bereft of much all else. You don't even really need to do a "bereft of gear" qualifier on him.

It's mostly that every writer is in love with the idea of doing their own personal Born Again/"Spider man no more!" even though it's just another miserable retread.
