If less titles means less X-books and Peter Parker books-so be it.

If less titles mean someone actually puts in a better effort to make a quality Peter Parker book-so be it.

If less titles mean an editor actually HUNTING for talent to do a book versus what we saw the last 8 years of Black Panther-so be it.

Lets get some more original graphic novels or online books that get printed as trades later on.

I'm not sure what you are talking about. Hardly anyone has an ongoing, nowadays, unless it's a title named Spider-Man or Avengers or X-men. It's all mini-series now, and 5 issue minis at that.

OGN and online books are not cost effective. I can't even remember the last time Marvel did an OGN.

Seriously? I would happily take an ongoing for Namor for 8 years, with the support Marvel's given Black Panther.


If Marvel cuts back on titles, it won't be on the major MCU characters, who I wouldn't be surprised to see doubled up on. It will be on characters like Hellcat, Defenders, Blade's daughter, Silver Surfer, X-23, Sabertooth, Rogue and Gambit, Tiger Division, Black Cat, Mary Jane, Vision, etc., and all the old school books they are putting out by folks like Peter David, Chris Claremont, David Micheline, etc. As much as I complain about their content, at least Marvel has some variety and it's not like DC with all Batman books.

Though ... I don't think too many would complain if their Fox imprint disappeared.

You can presume I'd want it written and drawn to the highest of standards. But it can't possibly be written worse than most of the sporadic horribly OOC, inconsistent guest spots I've had to read since his last ongoing. Just tonight I had to read Namor tell a marine scientist that the Avengers had better things to do than fix climate change to save marine mammals. I guess the writer was unaware that Namor and his entire kingdom of people are f88king MARINE MAMMALS and part of his beef with the surface is their continued attack on the environment and oceans.

Edit: besides Ike himself, how does this effect Marvel Entertainment division under Disney?

I'm trying to care but then I remembered that Marvel has been awful since 2010. I mostly just buy old stuff. I'm thinking they just find someone else to do the comics for them while they push out reprints.

Does this mean that Feige or another high up at Disney will look at what they've been doing with the Spider-man and X-men comics and say "Hey, can we cut all this borderline unreadable, out of character stuff and get back to the core of what the characters should be about?"

The support for Black Panther is deceiving, when you look at what's been done to the title character. If you like 8 yrs of Namor being made into the ultimate simp, okay fine. However Marvel really supporting Black Panther only came from Jason Aaron.
