Whaat? I just logged in now to vote, really did not expect to win this week. Thank you all, new contest will be up soon (as soon as I come up with a theme, that is).

“Strength is the lot of but a few privileged men; but austere perseverance, harsh and continuous, may be employed by the smallest of us and rarely fails of its purpose, for its silent power grows irresistibly greater with time.” Goethe
Congratulations to Catlady in training for a cover which earned the gold medal and the blue ribbon with a black label.
As for the peak of the week and what the captain has learned from this contest, nada. They're walls. A common background and one which shows a character in dire straits (not the band). Hence the phrase "backs against the wall. But I want to expand on why I voted for Iron Maiden's Spider-Man 70 cover:
Then we add a "possible inspiration" although both covers may have other muses:
And the unoriginal me comes up with this amazing wonder (see what I did there):
The Age of Marvels and the DC Next Dawn threads are examples of posters' creativity and can serve to answer the question "well, what would you do with...?" Please check out the offerings every month.
I also need to thank the perceptive PaulBullion for their vote.
I’ll don the mask and wear the cape
If I am super, how can I wait?
Congrats to our own Catlady in Training! Also thanks to Nschornhorst and Stony for the votes!

Congrats Catlady in Training, and thanks for the vote Dalak, always nice to meet another Dresden fan.
I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:
Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.
A little late, but Congrats Catlady and thanks to MRP for the vote.
