A Hauls Thread?

Any chance we could have a dedicated thread for posting pics of our latest acquisitions? I love seeing people's hauls, but seeing them 4 or 5 times cross posted in all the publisher threads gets a bit tedious.

I honestly like that the hauls are posted in the General thread, since you can ask all kinds of questions about it and therefore add tp the cconversation.I vote for sticking to the General thread but I'm always open to new ideas, so if other people like it I'm willing to give it a shot and contribute to it

Eh that was one poster, he/she was obviously very excited about their books arriving. I don't have a problem with the current way, in that it gets put in the most appropriate thread DC/Marvel/General/Dark Horse etc. depending on what books people have received.

It happens quite regularly, maybe not always the full house of all 5 threads, but multiple ones certainly. Understandably so too. I completely understand why people wouldn't want to separate them out and photo by publisher, it's a pain and isn't as much fun as a 'big haul' photo. We have a shelf porn thread though, so why not a dedicated hauls thread? Then everyone's happy.

Going back over the last few days there has been some cross posting, by new posters, who may not be aware they should stick to the one thread. It's happened occasionally in the past, with no complaints, and this is the first time I have seen someone post about having a problem with it.

I'm happy with the way things are, introducing a hauls thread would be creating more problems. Most hauls that are posted often generate discussion, regardless of them being on topic or not. A hauls thread would end being a multiple publisher discussion thread, defeating the purpose of the various threads. The General thread is where most hauls are posted, because those guys buy a **** load of books. That also tends to be 70% of the discussion in that thread.

I don't mind editing posts in the future if someone gets cross posting happy, and I wil add something to the rules about it.

Agreed. This forum doesn't get half the traffic of others, and a thread like the one suggested would more than likely "dilute the brand", as it were. I think leaving well enough alone would be most conducive to discussion, and keep the existing thread flowing.
