To answer the thread's initial question again, Editorial hate has never been this large and transparent.
CBR has bi-weekly articles now trashing this book and/or Editorial. Another one came out today.

While there were a few inconsistencies (Paul is not MJ’s husband, but we can blame the book writers there for saying they were by mistake…, and Peter didn’t reveal his identity to MJ, she had already known), we are just at the point where I think the book is almost a meta-commentary on itself by accident.
“We’re just going through the motions”, they both say.
There’s just nothing of substance here, before OR after, per the new previews.
And if Peter can’t seem to care, why should readers?“If anything proves how tired this trope is, it's the fact that even Spider-Man himself can't seem to care that his life is still in shambles.”
The death of a comic isn’t outrage; it’s apathy.
"The Enigma Force is not a tool to be manipulated by mortals. The Enigma Force comes to those it deems worthy. What temerity, what arrogance, makes you think you are worthy? Have you not all made mistakes? Unforgiveable ones?" - Captain Universe
"Call me an Avenging Angel, Baron, come to safeguard Earth...call me CAPTAIN UNIVERSE!" - Ray Coffin
"You're my heart, Mary Jane Watson...you're my jackpot." - Peter Parker
I don't believe the editorial hate has ever been this large or transparent. Nor has it ever been this misguided.
