Since I like the good ole days lol....one question I always had was ...why didn't the Von Erichs ever face the Midnight Express ? And before folks mention that Midnight's were mostly Crockett era , they were sure. But they actually started in Mid-South and traveled to World Class.

    - Jim Cornette brings up that they were working for Bill Watts when the call came in from Fritz if they wanted to work World Class 1st and they agreed. Then before they went a call from Crockett came if they wanted to come there. Well as Cornette said we examined things ...Fritz didn't have big cable like Jim Crockett had. Plus the talent roster wasn't as deep to work against. So the Midnight's were gonna take up Crockett's offer and call and tell Fritz they couldn't come to Texas.

But Bill Watts came to them and was like , at least go work for Fritz awhile and I'll bring you guys back for a big show and you can do Crockett after it. So Cornette let Watts talk him into working for Fritz.

    - Now people question why didn't they work against the Von Erich's ? They were a top heel tag team and its sure they could have done huge. But they for 6 months they were in World Class worked the Fantastics. Which wasn't a bad tag team match but the payoff difference was something that did play a factor. Working main events against Von Erich's for the tag team titles was worth more. Also Cornette believes maybe Fritz got mad that the Midnight's were gonna take the Crockett offer instead. Also a story he had heard was Fritz possibly likely didn't think the size of the Midnight's matched well but as Jim joked , they were working Gino and Chris Adams and those guys were a bit smaller than Condrey and Eaton.

    - They weren't happy with the payoffs and the final straw was the payoffs where they did work the Von Erich's in a main event at Texas Stadium in front of near 27,000 folks. In the Midnight Express book Jim posted a copy of the payoff checks and they were around $150 bucks apiece. For a gate of 27,000 and a main event ? Jim claims they quickly rang up Jim Crockett who told em to come in and they left Texas.

They haven't removed ECIII yet , but I think its kinda wild that the oldest guys on the roster for Impact is Abyss , Edwards and Austin Aires now. The rest are like Sami.
Ratings aside, I think this is a good message on why they shouldn't go the CZW route. A guy got hurt. Ratings are nice, but guys can't earn you money sitting in a hospital bed.

I'll bet Jim Cornette is somewhere in the internet having a field day over this.

He was ...and he ripped into Sami for it. Of course Sami had a reply for this...

Well, he stayed in character and went full heel. I'll bet Cornette at least liked that.

Probably what Sexy Star should have done.

He and Cornette actually went at it on Twitter and Ohno stepped in and told Sami to stop being a jackass.

Messed up thing about this is that if he's getting a legit heat out of this, his stupid botch will probably get him a world title push. That stupid spot with the cheap plastic chair and the bat will probably become the most feared move in Impact.

Smart of Ohno, maybe they can have a match later down the road. I haven't seen Ohno on NXT in awhile.

Hopefully Ohno's been out shopping for a new outfit.

Weird that a guy whose tag line is being a knocked out specialist would dress like a basketball player instead of a boxer or mma guy.

I think last time we saw him was against the Velveteen Dream at the last Taker. Which if I recall correctly was actually a pretty descent match.

I think Sami will get a big push from this as well since many are looking at this incident and going HOLY ****. Shane Douglas claims he was with Dominic DeNucci when they both watched the spot with others. And everyone did a OHHH ****. Like everyone grimaced at one point.

Its the most violent spot in years and one I'm sure Anthem will gimmick possibly in a way so it won't cause real life injuries for Callihan to use again.

Perhaps the best news is Borash being involved in this. Since he played a big role in the whole Broken universe 2 years ago.
