Oh. Thanks for the heads-up. I really don't know Star Trek.

    I've changed my entry.

    ^^^Both those scenes were outstanding!
Also Spock’s reaction to Wolverine’s quick recovery from his Vulcan nerve pinch.

    Such a great crossover.

Edited since that crossover was classic Trek.

I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:

Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.

I was born in 1984. TNG was my Star Trek. The Playmates Enterprise D was the first Starship model I got as a kid (and I still have it). To this day, she's my favorite starship across all media and franchises. I'm all about the D.

    ...

Don't take that last bit out of context.

And then they killed off Tasha, the only character I liked, and I just gave up.

The first season of every new Trek show was a learning period where the episodes were of a much lesser quality than when the show got it's footing (with a few exceptions). Deep Space Nine has the most connected story of all of them, but still suffers from this flaw. I wouldn't necessarily skip them all, as story beats and plot points from those early episodes can be referenced in later material (Even in other series) but later seasons have GREAT episodes worth the trouble to get to.

Technically, my cover had Optimus Prime, but I totally got your meaning. I should have realized it when other covers showed Uhuru that it was classic Trek. Thank you for the heads up, I changed my cover.

I was tempted to post that one myself but when I looked at the larger picture I had to turn it down.

I feel the same about TNG....the cast never really "grabbed" me. I still watch classic Star Trek on the Heroes and Icons channel at home. And I have seen all the movies with the original cast. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is the best of ALL Star Trek movies. It is the only Star Trek movie that periodically gets a re-release. They had it at my local theater about 5 years ago.
