    Yes! It already happened.

Jokes aside, fictional robots in space is not the same as real life, Antebellum South.

The point was it already has a dark premise.

    I think you knew that.

Movies can go light hearted to dark to tear jerker to bizarre. It's 2024, media doesn't have to be stuck in one genre anymore.

Another trailer could totally flip that.

It's also an all ages movie, not a PG-13 movie.

I'm sure it won't 100% be a comedy, just like any other all ages Disney movie.

Isn't this directed by the Toy story 4 guy? He made grown men cry during an animated movie. Hopefully it is a good movie and does well. Transformers still needs some BO rehab after the Bay movies (the new ones are helping).

"Blazing Saddles" was a satire and "Transformers One" does not appear to be that.

And of course these animated movies can go from light to dark at the drop of a hat, but your response/rebuttal to Frontier was that the basic premise was inherently dark. And yes, it can lend itself towards dark material, but I was pointing out that so far, as presented by the trailer, this film - despite the premise - is clearly injecting a lot of levity. So, it doesn't necessarily mean that they will use slavery to provide the darkness (it might be too dark (or controversial) for them, who knows), and as Frontier was suggesting, that they might use Megatron and his journey as a conduit for the darker material.

It could totally be that as well as D-16's journey into Megatron could be him finding out they were part of the warrior caste.

I think it could work either and/or both ways.

IMHO it depends on if Sentinel is an underling or not.

    That's not dark anymore??
Just as we see him get more radicalized. That scene of him with a more G1-accurate look with red eyes and forging the Decepticon insignia seems pretty serious.
