I'll check this out just because I'm reading all the Spider-Man-related titles, anyway. Hopefully Kurt doesn't get cursed with Peter's s****y luck on top of the s*** being a mutant has forced him to put up with from the rest of the world.

The spider is always on the hunt.
I'm halfway through this interview and immediately stopped when I read this:
This is referring to Hickman's G.O.D.S. and Ultimate Invasion series, isn't it?It's a new beginning, triggered by the very simplest and easiest-to-understand change in the wider status quo of the Marvel Universe [that] I can't say much about. It lies at the bleeding heart of the wider Fall of X.
Jean Grey in the words of Walt Whitman, from his masterpiece Leaves of Grass, "Song of Myself" (51 and 52):
"Do I contradict myself? Very well then I contradict myself, (I am large, I contain multitudes.)"
"Failing to fetch me at first keep encouraged, Missing me one place search another, I stop somewhere waiting for you."
While I would agree that Kurt wouldn't necessarily dress up as Spider-Man and would be more likely to create his own persona....this seems like it might be filling a need for Kurt to experience some kind of acceptance while filling his need to be a hero and save others. While I would prefer it be under a Nightcrawler logo, it will be interesting to see it play out and how Kurt comes out of it.
To see Nightcrawler returning to his sympathetic self makes me really happy...still not buying this mini though.
*cough* Percy *cough*The big takeaway is that I'd rather give readers 20 issues' worth of material in 10 [instead] of the opposite, which I fear is the more common approach in a lot of mainstream titles.
Initially I thought Spurrier was referring to Fall of X itself but it wouldn't entirely make sense if that was the case given how he phrased it... it sounds more like there's something else that happens somewhere that also informs Fall of X. And I think you are correct in that it's one of Hickman's books. Given what he said in interviews about coming up with a new approach to the Marvel Universe, I think it's Ultimate Invasion specifically.
"Danielle... I intend to do something rash and violent." - Betsy Braddock
Krakoa, Arakko, and Otherworld forever!
I cut back on comics recently but the interview was fun. Spurrier is one of my current favorites so I'll check it out.
Daredevil might've been a better choice but Matt is in hotter water because of his current run. So becoming Daredevil wouldn't actually help Kurt.
I'm hoping the Kurt pretends to be Spider-Man plot wraps up at the end of the miniseries. Replacement arcs work better in the short term to me.

I think that's a fun maybe to ponder!
imho GODS has nothing to do with it--idk if we even have a release date for it except for the vague promise of "Fall."
Ult Invasion makes more sense--the timeline kinda synchs up. What if, as a result of it, something happens to Miles and he's mia. That would sorta explain why Kurt's going with the spidey name--there's a vacancy! Which makes more sense than Kurt becoming Spidey #3.
again, we know why Kurt is hiding his face, but not why he's hiding under a spidey mask
Nice that we’ll see Kurt interacting with Peter especially given that he’s taking on his moniker, though have they ever been friends? Can’t remember any big interactions between them though I could definitely see the 2 making good friends.
Spurrier always interviews beautifully, but I don't feel like that's translated to his best work with LoX and its associated books. I might check this out, but eh, we'll see.
According to a quick google search, so not sure if it a complete accurate but it seems they have meet and there similarities have been commented on in the past. https://amazingspidertalk.com/2014/0...-nightcrawler/
