Seriously, say this sentence without laughing:

Nick Lowe and Zeb Wells fridged Ms. Marvel in 2023 during AAPI Heritage Month in a Spider-Man book she barely appeared in to give Peter more manpain, marketed it as a celebration of the 50th anniversary of Gwen getting fridged, and did it in the middle of massive layoffs.

Not a hyperbole. This is literally what happened.

Ms. Marvel's fridging is probably going to be the only thing Wells' run is remembered for and I doubt it's going to be considered a positive. As divisive as the rest of Well's tragedy porn run has been (poorly-written mystery box, the anti-Peter/MJ stuff, etc.), kinda think everything else would've just faded into the background over time (wouldn't be the first poorly-written arc in the franchise, Marvel's anti-MJ agenda is pretty well-known and more or less expected in the OMD-verse comics), but Kamala's fridging is so baffling both in terms of why anyone thought it would be a good idea period (given the underlying unfortunate implications, whether intentional or not) and just how incongruent a decision like this is for a Spider-Man comic (Kamala doesn't have strong ties to Peter, hardly appeared in this series).

Wonder if Marvel miscalculated on the backlash or if they were planning to sell it on the outrage?

I guess this is their way of putting a death in the book, to generate "feelz" and not kill a main Spidey character. And for all the woke outrage, anyone who reads comics regularly knows she'll be back before long. So really, it's just free publicity and a chance for some speculators to make some money on eBay lol

I have to agree 100% . A year from now or even longer this is not going to look good for anyone .
I think that Marvel has reached a point where they don't know what to do with original Peter anymore .
It's basically sad that they don't allow Peter to grow as a character .

I just found on a russian website that after "Spider-Man's Last Hunt", the next arc to come is "Gang War".

Seriously, can't they think of anything better?

This is probably true. Maybe Paul memes depending on how that turns out, but if the story has any integrity this is all a giant fake out/obstacle situation and people will be trying to forget everything else.

Kinda think the Paul memes will disappear once their context (Wells' weird shipping subplot) is no longer a factor. It's only funny so long as Marvel is using him to keep MJ away from Peter and, once that's undone, what else memorable about him is there to stick around long-term? He doesn't want to turn people into dinosaurs instead of curing cancer like Sauron, for example.

Well that's why I say it depends on how it turns out and how long it stays canon. People still use that awful page from Sins Past even though that's not canon anymore. Like no if it's revealed he's just some gay dude who was helping MJ with the kids they'll probably die off but there are other possibilities and if it's not revealed for another couple of years....

Uh, didn't she use that word in the Disney+ show? In the finale I think, when she was making an enlarged body, Armor style?

Two - Captain Marvel and Iron Man. She considers them her superhero parents, said them fighting in Civil War II was like watching her superhero parents divorce. Tony's the one who recruited her to the Avengers and so is responsible for her meeting Miles, Sam, and Nadia - without him, the Champions wouldn't exist. Carol of course is her main mentor.

Hey, isn't there a new Avengers/X-Men Unity squad coming? Wouldn't surprise me to see Ms. Marvel there in addition to a new ongoing
Uncanny Avengers is unfortunately just a mini. Nobody new will be joining that team after issue 1.

Yes, the Classified book is listed on Previews World as Reborn Anew. The full title is presumably Ms. Marvel: Reborn Anew.

Dark Web isn't the only thing mixing Spider-Man and X-Men. I'd say Uncanny Spider-Man counts too, given that that comic actually stars Nightcrawler.

Miles of course has his own book, and Nadia was in her mother's recent Wasp mini. Snowguard and Nova I think have only had Marvel Voices stories since Champions ended. Amadeus has been inactive for a while. His status quo is that he's doing double duty with the Champions and Agents of Atlas - but both books were cancelled a couple of years ago. Has he appeared in Hulk at all since the end of Immortal? I've not read the Cates run.

Ugh, bad taste, there's a cross on that tombstone and Kamala is Muslim. Her grave wouldn't look like that!

Way ahead of you. It’s been bothering me so I’ve got a cross-less version in-progress. My photoshop skills are rusty.
    EDIT: And tweaked.

Didn't Wells insinuate that his run would end with everything reset and isn't his tenure ending sooner rather than later?

Course, it could hang on longer, but, also considering how his fridging Ms. Marvel is overtaking the anti-Peter/MJ subplot as the worst mistake of the series to date, the other little bits might not leave as much of an impression. (Also, Marvel's anti-MJ agenda is hardly new -- it's literally the foundation of the OMD-verse -- so, Paul doesn't exactly stand out. Heck, he's more or less Pedro 2.0, just with a more punchable face and sucking way more oxygen from the comics.)
