Madelyne's a clone of Jean, right? So it makes sense she has the same powers. However, that profile must relate to either an alternate universe or an outdated status quo. She's Goblin Queen, and has been for quite a while. Marvel Woman isn't currently taken. I don't think there's ever been a Miss or Mrs Marvel either, only Ms.

Her joining the X-Men would've been the perfect opportunity to give her a new codename. I mean that actually happened with Carol as Binary. I'm not saying that's the name that she should've taken. But it would've been poetic and respectful of her character to have her follow in Carol's footsteps like that and giving Carol back the codename she started with originally.

They're trying to sell merchandise and market the movie. That's the only reason she's becoming an X-Men member. To sell more product. They need that name recognition from both sides.

If they really wanted a young mutant with a new name they would've picked one from the lot.
