There's probably more, just can't think of them. I avoided putting older shows I may remember fondly but for nostalgia reasons I may be subconsciously skewing as funnier than they actually were.

Agree, which is why I left it and The Wonder Years off my list. Like both shows, but they aren't what I call comedy.
One thing that always got me is that, in the 1970s, All in the Family got criticized by some for tackling social issues when it was supposed to be a comedy while M*A*S*H seemed to get a free pass on that in spite of the fact that, most of the time, in spite of tackling social issues, AitF seldom forgot it was, first and foremost, a comedy, while M*A*S*H bordered on ignoring that it was supposed to be a comedy as time went on.

The Bob Newhart Show and The Mary Tyler Moore Show are my go to comfort comedies.

Probably a controversial choice, but I would like to add the dubbed-version of Ghost Stories

I agree with WPP on Keeping up Appearances and Are You Being served. But I would also add As Time Goes By to that list.

While my mother loved Keeping Up Appearances, I never took to it. Oddly enough, when my mom died, I inherited all her DVDs which includes the two box sets for the show that I actually bought her for a gift at one point or another.

I do like As Time Goes By though.
