My three favorites are M*A*S*H*, Cheers and All in the Family. The order fluctuates depending on my mood but those are my three all-time favorites.

Never really thought up a top 10, but my "comfort food" so to speak are three I always return to: Married...With Children, The Golden Girls, and George Lopez (2002).

I thought about comedies I can watch over and over and ones I purchased. Like, I watched all of Friends when it was on but I never watch reruns of it and would never buy it. It didn’t age well for me. And I left out shows like Ghosts or Abbott, which I currently enjoy but don’t know how they’ll look ten years from now.

Shows I can watch over and over and/or bought …

    30 Rock
    All in the Family
    American Dad
    Barney Miller
    Big Bang Theory
    Family Guy
    Frasier
    Golden Girls
    I Love Lucy
    Keeping Up Appearances
    Schitt’s Creek
    Seinfeld
    Simpsons

Those are the ones that come to mind first.

I remember that show. It was pretty good. I may need to look some episodes up on Youtube.

My initial memory starts in the 80s but I've come to love some prior comedies before my time.

No order but I'll start with...

Taxi (why isn't that on here already?!)
    Gilligans Island
    Cheers
    Golden Girls
    Alice
    Newhart
    Married with Children
    Cosby Show
Dukes of Hazzard (lots of action but surely fits the comedy category)
    Family Ties
    Whos the Boss?
    Perfect Strangers
    Diff'rent Strokes
    The Facts of Life
    ALF
    Night Court
    Mamas Family
    FRIENDS
    Frasier
    Seinfeld
    Fresh Prince of Bel-Aire
    Gilmore Girls
    The Office
    Big Bang Theory
    Goldbergs

I've not made much time for Network fare the past decade+
I know there are numerous shows I'd like to get to but haven't so my reference point on comedies thins out the more I get past 2000.
"Freedom is the right of all sentient beings" - Optimus Prime

Of these shows, I think every last one is funny and great. I will say except for Everyone Loves Raymond. I know what it is to have a parent try to force you to conform to what they want so it's a bit too close to reality for me. I would personally put the Jeffersons into Number 7.

That said, instead of ELR, I would put Hogan's Heroes on the list. I know that's controversial. But, only because people cannot seem to comprehend that there is an overwhelming difference between a Prisoner of War camp (which they were in) and a concentration camp (which was not what they were in). John Banner and Leon Askin (Schultz and Burkhalter) , who in real life were in a concentration camp as children, and Robert Clary (LeBeau) who was really in a Prisoner of War camp, have been happy to explain that.

If I had to name my three favorite comedies of all-time, I would go with the Andy Griffith show, the Jeffersons and Hogan's Heroes. The only reason I don't go with M*A*S*H is that, as it went on, it became mostly a drama with elements of comedy.
    Power with Girl is better.

I have a cousin who refused to watch ELR because her mother-in-law was exactly like Marie Barone. She just couldn't take it.

Agree, which is why I left it and The Wonder Years off my list. Like both shows, but they aren't what I call comedy.
