Alan being in Arkham is an intriguing tease. I can guess what it was for but I’m interested to see where it goes.
Shades of The Imitation Game, maybe? Obviously the end results won't be the same, but yeah - it'll be interesting to see how they depict the Golden Age Arkham. I wonder if there are any "colorful rogues" in there... seems like a fun opportunity to introduce a few GA villains.
I never read any of their battles - was it an interesting rivalry in any way? (other than Grundy being able to use Alan's weakness to wood) It's too bad the Alan v. Vandal Savage thing never solidified even though Savage first appeared in Alan's title.(although good for Savage he's more of an overall DC threat)
"Never assign to malice what is adequately explained by stupidity or ignorance."
"Great stories will always return to their original forms"
"Nobody is more dangerous than he who imagines himself pure in heart; for his purity, by definition, is unassailable." James Baldwin
It looks like Alan did deal with Grundy a few times during the Golden Age according to the GCD, in All-American Comics #61 plus Comic Cavalcade #13 and #24, as well as with the Justice Society of America in All-Star Comics #33. But I don't know if that truly qualifies Grundy as Alan's "archenemy". Alan probably fought the Sportsmaster as often as Grundy.

As the trail of the person murdering people from Alan’s past goes cold, the Green Lantern finds himself teamed up with an unlikely ally: the Spectre. But will the Spectre uncover the secret Alan was hoping would stay hidden in the process?
Ya know when I first saw him I wasn't really digging Alan's costume, I thought it was really garish.
But I've warmed up to it a lot. Especially in how the cape is drawn as this badass all covering mantle.
Yeah it's a striking costume in a great way, in my mind. The cape is just too cool!
Getting called out on your homosexuality by J. Edgar Hoover...the irony.
