One of the things that they could have leaned into was the Dinah at a time in her life DIDN'T want to be a parent. When she finally decided to start a family, was was infertile due to trauma (this was in the old Mike Grell GREEN ARROW series). In some ways, Sin was the child that Dinah wanted to have. Gail Simone did an excellent job laying the foundation of that relationship.
Now we have a Sin that, honestly, bears no resemblance to that character we met in the old BIRDS OF PREY. It's just sad and disappointing (it also really abuses the comic character sliding age of heroes, tbh).

It’s Barda’s world now, and we’re all just living in it. As the Birds search for Barbara inside the mysterious portal that keeps changing (and also trying to kill them), separating enemy from ally is getting harder than ever—and more important than ever.
I know that they have their fans, but two Batgirls in one book is a lot.
I kinda liked the political thriller/ intrigue of Gail's old series. I don't see that happening any time soon here - but wish it was. I'm not sure there is enough of a reason to keep this current team together besides 'keep Batgirl safe'.
