Same. Guggenheim is ruining 811 and it's already effing up. Jean is shown in an image with a teen Rachel, which is wrong as Jean died when Rachel was like 5.

Franklin was blonde in 811, so likely someone else.

Yeah. I’m looking at the blonde guy holding hands with the red haired girl.

    Yeah, that's Franklin and Rachel.

In that scene, yes. But the fight scene no. Also Jean had been a while before Rachel began get training so she shouldn't be in that scene....

All this just makes me wish Claremont and Leonardi got to do their Phoenix miniseries to show us the 811 story instead of this.

Those aren't even the New Mutants that Franklin and Rachel trained with.

I guess a reasonable way to approach those continuity errors is by looking at this timeline how it was shown in Days of Future Present, where Ahab went back in time because Rachel's interference did change the past, just not enough to change the end result. At this point, the divergence between 616/811 had not been defined, a Hound in that story said they went back in time to stop Franklin "before he changes history beyond repair" and Reed Richards even said that while the details of the original 811 and the one Ahab came from had been changed, the general history had not. So, if we view this in the context of that story, we can view this as one of infinite 811 Variants created sometime between Uncanny X-Men 142 and the Annuals of Days of Future Past like the one from New Mutants 48 which got rewritten by any possible action. That's the best I got at allowing us to ignore this because we know Guggenheim didn't read Excalibur.

After all, take the interview, in one section, Guggenheim claims to have read all 811 material and created a timeline but in another, he says this:

"For example, longtime readers know that Rachel was turned into a mutant-hunting hound by Ahab, but is eventually a non-Hound imprisoned in the mutant internment center when we first "meet" her in Uncanny #141. What motivated those turns and how did they take place? So there are questions like that which are drawn from established continuity. "

Which is something Claremont explicitly wrote about in 140.5... maybe I was wrong about that being released with this trade.

The original never had the X-men in conflict with the Avengers.(Send by the government of course....) I'd stick to the original two parter and Wolverine: DOFP. But this looks interesting for me.

The original didn't, but a variant of it that appeared in New Mutants 48 did. I'm guessing that in all Guggenheim's "research", he decided to incorporate that.

Could likely be based on that.
