I'm trying to stick to the theme of the post, because I started to shift from character into characters...
So with the Hulk being my favorite character, I've already listed Sal Buscema as my favorite.
Because he has different incarnations, Todd McFarlane gets my favorite version of the gray Hulk.
This turnaround would have made an AWESOME corner box over the Byrne version we got for years.
Unfortunately, he never came back to the title again, and we never got a green McFarlane Hulk proper.
It wasn't until 2016 when he was doing his sketch tutorials that we finally saw his green Hulk. Hair was a little shaggier, the brow shrunk...I was hoping for some bushy eyebrows, but oh well.
Childhood wish granted. It's been a screen saver, and avatar for various apps, etc. ever since.
And as far as Merged/Professor, give me Dale Keown or Gary Frank. It's almost a tie, but knowing that Keown had offered to stay on to Hulk #400 before leaving for Image, and Marvel editorial turned him down, Frank gets the nod.
Perez/Scarlet With and Davis/Captain Britain have already been mentioned. I'll add:
John Buscema Vision
Alan Davis Nightcrawler and Kitty
Jack Kirby Ben Grimm
George Perez (in the 90's w/ Busiek) - Scarlet Witch and Wonder Man
Jim Lee - various X-Men
Carlos Pacheco - Iceman
Joe Madureira - Blink and some X-Men
Chris Bachalo - any Generation X character
Kirby's Thor

More recently, I think Alan Davis has been the most faithful to Kirby's legachy.

Ron Lim's Silver Surfer and Thanos
"You address omnipotence. Tread carefully."
Gene Colan, Dracula. He was good on Dr. Strange, too, but Steve Ditko was the quintessential Dr. Strange artist.
