Ugh..Apparently Tom King was one of the first people Gunn showed the Superman script to. He even asked him for notes.

Mercy was created to be competent. The other two were created to be buffoonish comic relief, which seems idiotic to me as people Lex would choose to be by his side. Of course there are ways to make them less idiotic like in "Supergirl" but I'd still prefer new characters rather than bring them back just because they were in the original movie.

Otis sounds like banjoes and moonshine to my ears. You can't name a character that nowadays. If he ever shows up on the big screen Richard Grayson won't be Dick either.
