I’m very happy and can’t shut up about it so here’s a compilation of moments after I found out @jamesgunn had invited me to play Angela, The Engineer.

1) I immediately bought a Superman cape at Party City.
2)Surprised my agent at his office with his own cape and champagne.
3-4) My Godmothers got pretty excited and we all pretended to fly.
5) I sent my parents a Superman action figure to Venezuela and that’s how I let them know I got the role. Don’t mind my dad’s words, he loves me.
6) They proceded to send me all of the gifts available with a Superman theme.
7) I walked around town with the Party City cape like a child after a birthday party.

[Ah, well. Sasha Calle was wasted by being cast as a one-shot Supergirl. par for the course for that movie. Unfortunate. I really wanted to see her as Supergirl again.

So it really does seem like this is going to be "What’s So Funny About Truth, Justice, and The American Way?" only with the actual Authority characters instead of just stand-ins like the Elite were.

That was my first thought when I heard the Authority would be in the movie. Even if not that storyline in particular, but thematically so where people with super-powers might exist, but Superman is the first to actually become a super hero - someone who uses their ability to simply help for no other reason than it's the right thing to do. It could be an interesting subversion - where rather than being an old-fashioned idea, his idealism and altruism is a new thing in this cynical, self-serving world.

According to Hollywood insider Jeff Sneider, Rooker could be up for the role of General Sam Lane, the father of Rachel Brosnahan's Lois Lane. Should that be the case, Superman fans should still be waiting for casting news regarding both Pa and Ma Kent, in addition to everbody's favorite sidekick Jimmy Olsen.

I'd rather see Mercy than Eve (and we still might of course) ... her presence actually makes me apprehensive, but who knows what Gunn's take on her will be. As long as Lex's plan doesn't involve a big real estate deal, it should be fine I guess.
