I still can't get over the villain's design being a ripoff of Chainsaw Man

I'm just gonna ask - why a bat with a gun sticking out of its face? Is gunbat or batgun a thing now? The heck?

He’s a fiend possessed by the gun devil.

Preview says it's a nightmare. And I get the fear of the gun that took his parents. But why a gun-faced bat?

That was a cheeky joke referencing one of the villains of the manga Chainsaw Man

The art isn't bad, but the over all plot just feels like something an edgelord would think was cool.

Oh - haven't seen it, but I'm aware of it.

While not as edgelord terrible as I thought it was going to be...it was still pretty bad. It gave us no idea who this Insomnia is how he operates and outside of wanting the nightmare gem his designs going forward are nebulous at best. If this was meant to be a hook it failed.

Yeah, everything is just generic summer event fare. At this point the only thing that I'm curious is how they will handwave the inaction of Daniel Hall

It's well below summer event quality.

I just don't think Williamson knows how to do big stories. If he said he was going to do a three issue story about the Justice League taking on a new nightmare villain it might be a decent enough read but when you take an idea that thin and stretch it out to a major crossover with multiple tie-ins then you get a train wreck because there just isn't enough there.
