Is Marvel going to reprint all the Masterworks comics from Amazing Spider-Man?

Hi!

Recently i have discovered that Marvel announced that "by popular demand", they are going to reprint the discontinued Masterworks from Amazing Spider-Man:

So i want to ask a few questions:

1) Has Marvel intention to reprint all the Masterworks from Amazing Spider-man, or only the first?

2) All the new Masterworks are going to be remastered, with a new restoration ?

3) Finally... Are still being the Masterkorks the best way to collect the collection of Amazing Spider-Man with the best print and paper quality in hard cover?

In the past i bought the omnibus, because there were the only option to collect the Amazing Spider-Man. But i have allways prefered the hard cover editions, because are more confortable and easy to handle.

The line isn't discontinued. Volume 25 is coming out in December.

This is more of a remastering of earlier editions. There is a community that cares a lot about this, and there are some weird questions about whether the masterworks as we currently see them are the works of greats like Ditko, Kirby and Romita, or if it's essentially a tracing.

I think it's the equivalent of getting a new inker, although even that is going to rub some fans who want something as close to the original comic as possible. Especially when Marvel had some great inkers back in the day.

These are generally quality comics, but they are rather expensive especially in the context of work that is readily available elsewhere (omnibuses, paperback collections, multiple digital formats.) Any way you read it is fine. It depends on your budget, preferences and interests.

Only the first has been announced so far. Any future re-issues will be dependant upon how well this first batch of "ReMasterworks" sells.

2) All the new Masterworks are going to be remastered, with a new restoration ?

If there's market demand to continue the "ReMasterworks" they will likely have a similar amount of restoration work. Keep in mind that not every page of every issue has been remastered, only the ones where they have access to better materials (such as scans of the original art) and techniques than they did when these first saw print. The quality of the restoration in the Marvel Masterworks has gotten better over the years, so later volumes would likely see fewer improvements if they went back to print.

3) Finally... Are still being the Masterkorks the best way to collect the collection of Amazing Spider-Man with the best print and paper quality in hard cover?

Probably. From what I understand the paper quality is more consistent in the Masterworks than it is in other books. With the exception of this new "ReMasterworks" the print quality should be the same across all formats. If Omnibus 1 goes back to print they'll most likely use the the newly remastered versions of the issues contained in the ReMasterworks book.
