Yes! This looks pretty good and Camp says all the right things in the interview you linked. I've been meaning to check out his 20th Century Men in preparation for Children of the Vault, hope to get around to it eventually.
Agreed, that was a good interview and I'm looking forward to all the world-building and the dynamic between Cable and Bishop. I'm especially intrigued by:
"And so much of the Krakoan era has been about competing visions of the future (quite literally, as Jonathan Hickman took it into the future), all the way back to HOX/POX, and into now with Orchis and Krakoa/Mutantkind vying to define the future. The Children of the Vault represent a new complication in the ongoing human/mutant conflict, a "third way". And just as Hickman increased the stakes by founding a mutant nation, I wanted to have the Children grow to meet the scale of Krakoa/mutantkind/Orchis."
And it looks like Cable does indeed get captured.

This looks like it is going to be a great series. Looking forward to seeing these guys kick some ass
The Avengers are Firefighters. We're the ones who fly into the blaze, whatever it is. Because we're the ones who
can, so we're the ones who have to.~Captain Marvel
I’m kinda lost on if there was a miscommunication within editorial or if there’s something deeper in the story but considering that it was Kid Cable that got captured, why is OG Cable the one who is now captured with the same injury?
My baby Serafina looks amazing. I hope she will join the X-men and pursue her "i love you/not" romance with Cannonball after Fall of X
(one can dream...)
Time for these wannabe mutants to finally bite the dust gunz n muscles style.
The Krakoans are EEEvil!
THEY MUST BE STOPPED!
Hum, it looks like the Children of the Vault have their own Storm.
Al Ewing made Storm great again! Storm greatest challenge might not be a matter of destruction, but creation.
I like how Cable looks like Josh Brolin on that cover. I also notice he's sporting the black and blue transmode virus looking arm again (verus his normal more metallic one). Wonder if that's because he lost his arm (similar to how Kid Cable lost his in X-men #24... hmm... coincidence?) and he just grew that one in its place or what. Regardless, that look has kind of grown on me. Differentiates Nathan from Bucky. Or Misty Knight. Forge. Anyone with more traditional bionic limbs.
“Not as good as I once was… but I’m as good, once, as I ever was.”
Is this inspired by the opening arc of Grant Morrison's JLA? Looks like the Children will be playing a similar role to the Hyperclan.
