Yeah, it's a new origin so that's to be expected.

Love this! So so good. Haven’t enjoyed a Titans book since John’s run. Or Maybe Teen Titans Year One. That was great too. Keep em coming Waid!
    Read The Flash#1 this September!

And Mal as well. That might get me to pick up an issue.

Actuallym WFTT #1 is the first contemporary comic book I've purchased in close to a year. I've considered a few other series -- Waid's Shazam and Jed McKay's Dr. Strange or Strange, but I think focusing on the Silver/Bronze Age era of Titans sealed the deal for me.

I enjoyed the book, but i have to admit the time-frame made my head hurt. It read at points like the early days of the Titans (the original four plus Speedy) but then had Bumblebee and Charley "Golden Eagle" Parker which were from the era just before Wolfman/Perez. It wouldn't have bothered me except that Waid seems to be playing on nostalgia at the same time he is rearranging continuity.

When exactly was Golden Eagle a Teen Titan, anyway? All I know is it was in the 1970s.

He really wasn't. He was part of the very short lived Teen Titans West which lasted for 1 story over 3 issues in the Teen Titans vol 1. That makes him a Titan but he wasn't ever a full-time Titan or even hero. I'm glad to see him show up so soon and I think the way Waid is using him is brilliant. Now I want Lilith to show up even more in this series. I've been into the Titans since I was a kid in the 70's but I'm all for this new updated telling of their history. Very exciting time to be a Titans fan.

Oh man I would love that or for her to even be acknowledged as ever being a Teen Titan.

Mark Waid said Mal shows up in second issue, I think -- and not yet in any costume. I expect Lilith and maybe even Hawk & Dove to make appearances. Maybe Flamebird, but I'm skeptical on Harlequin/Joker's Daughter.

Yeah I think Duela is very much a longshot but I'm hopeful after seeing Charley appear in #1. Mal is definitely mentioned in the solicit for #2 if I remember correctly.

Duela would make a great villain for the teenaged Teen Titans...and they really need great villains IMHO.
