I mean, Marvel have developed a pattern of changing characters' logos - and often costumes - with every relaunch*, either cresting a new one or surfacing an old one. And since, for some reason, Al Ewing's Immortal Thor is using an update of his 60s logo - the logo Walt Simonson literally smashed on his first cover and replaced on his second for much the same reason as Steranko and that X-Men logo - the taste of who's making these choices is.... questionable.

[*The X-Books have actually skipped this since HoXPoX, apparently being treated as a collective that hasn't "truly" relaunched since then. Hell, it was only with the last set of minis that any non-flashback series at all broke from the "Krakoan" logo style.]

So 2023 was Academy X's 20th anniversary. And 2024 would be the 20th anniversary of the book chsnging its title to New X-Men. So this book will definitely, absolutely be a celebration of Hellion and his peers. It all comes together!

Let's goooo. If the font really is indicating an Apocalypse team then she's one of my first thoughts with those nice things she said about him in her letter.

There's a lot of talk of Jean moving to Immortal in December and that Mark Brooks cover tease definitely points to that.

To be fair… New X-Men was used for Morrison’s team first. I want the Academy X kids back as much as anyone, but this is likely a reference to that run and not an intentional slight on the Academy X gang.

How about both? A way to reference Morrison's run while giving the middle finger to the Academy X and it's fanbase at the same time.
