Right… iirc this was their big SDCC announcement. I’m going with it got quietly cancelled because of the regime change until proven otherwise. Like you said New X-Men is a big deal for a title and Brevoort could have decided he wanted to use the title for his post-Krakoa launches.
If his plans as editor involve streamlining the X-men line back into a shape which might attract the collectors and old fashioned X-men comic buyers again, who had seemingly maintained these comics since their decline as mass market product after the 90's, being able to invoke nostalgia associated with Morrison's run (for what ever reason) and proclaiming a start of a new era or even a sort of reboot with that title might indeed be seen as too valuabe than to spend it on anything still in the current status.
It would be really funny if they announced it on Dec 1st and played it like “well guys it’s still technically the last week of November so how about that.”
Yea this was supposed to be the next big for White era until Brevoort was announced as editor. Even Immortal X-Men cover kinda implied the same thing.
They did say November. Maybe they mean November 2024 haha

Almost everything is '10 issues'. For a long time Marvel/DC have treated all but the biggest titles this way. The writer is told they have one or two arcs to work with, and if things look good they get told to come up with one or two more arcs, and so on. These books are still getting canceled, at least in the way that anything gets canceled now.
What happened to the announcement about this? Has it just gone completely silent?
"When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world — No, you move."
Definitely cancelled or repurposed for something else.
