I enjoyed Sid Kotian's art on the recent Gambit mini but it's been pretty rough on Storm... this new artist is much easier on the eyes. I'm also enjoying Nocenti's writing a lot.

Agreed, I'm liking the new art as well. I'm very curious about Blowback and what their whole deal is.

I think Nocenti is writing this as if it was really taking place in the 80s when this era actually happened... unless Kitty and the Professor have been hanging on to their cathode ray screens for the past couple of decades LOL

Yeah, this Storm doesn't quite sound correct. Especially in the context of early 80's Ororo(I'm getting a lot more notes of 90's TAS Storm...). I mean, it's one thing to be the editor, quite another to be the writer. We'll see, I suppose, if Nocenti actually has something to say over the next couple of issues, but so far I am not impressed. At the very least they got a better artist in here this issue.

LOL Kitty got the same mermaid tattoo on three different parts of her body. A big one all over her chest and stomach...I know she was a little ridiculous back then but Nocenti is taking it to extreme heights in this book.

And Rogue is in an early version of her Jim Lee 90's costume.

Me too. Lot's of little nuggets that can help to define storm. I think the disconnect is storm was written a lot more mature in the past during the mohawk stage but i think here she is written closer to what her age would actually be. late teens early twenties, at least that is how it reads for me and it works. and back to the nuggets, storm does not rob one area of moisture to make it rain somewhere else, her weather phenom is dispersed far above earth as electromagnetic energy. Her mutant powers are getting a lot of definition here.

It also in a way explains some weather like jupiter level pressure domes on earth. If the effects of her weather power disperses far above earth she could theoretically be tapping back into that and drawing it back down for other effects leaving earth's actual system untouched.
