For those wondering why Julian Keller isn't single-handedly crushing Orchis and ending the Fall of X before this issue even started: he saw all his teachers in need, hunted down and facing extinction, struggling to survive as they're picked off, one by one... I’m actually confident that Duggan will explain the Kid Cable of it all. Despite my reservations about his run he does tend to circle back to plot points even if it takes a while (he actually hinted at mutants walking through a gate all the way back in issue 12).

You do bring up the good point of what the hell SWORD is up to right now. They’re supposed to be under new management as of XMR #10, but they haven’t shown up in that book and none of them were at the Gala besides Frenzy.

Some went to Planet Arakko. Some Went to Orchis Prisons. And some where scattered all over the Universe.

Does Xavier know this? He seemed pretty distraught over it and it was a highly dramatic moment at the end of Fall of X. If all the mutants are fine it just seems odd to me that they'd let him go on believing he killed them all. I suppose that will be followed up on, if you're correct and they're all accounted for just in different places across the universe.

Does it matter what Xaiver knows?
We don't know WHY he can't sense them, but we do know they are scattered all over Earth, Mars and the Whole Universe. We might get a better answer come the other Books. But, for right now that's the Answer Duggan has given us.

Amazing story telling by Duggan. And this sets up the fantastic adventure for the X-Men. From evil Orchis to the mutant civil war on Arrakao, our favorite mutants have a lot on their plate.

Ah I thought inhibitors only suppressed the powers, not the X-gene.

It’s nice to see Duggan bring up this angle again tbh I expect to see it fleshed out a lot more in Invincible Iron Man. With Emma infiltrating Stark Enterprises presumably and Firestar doing that same but with Orchis, I cant help but believe that they’ll come into contact with one another soon.

It seems to not be clear if mutants that Xavier forced through the gates went to Arakko although Orchis may think they did. We know there are forced deportations happening by Orchis so those are the ones mentioned in this issue like Woofer. I'm thinking the mutants Xavier couldn't sense are in Mother Righteous' lantern.
