Travis Kelce said one of the best things recently. He said he knows he could ask for way more money. He has seen what Tyreek Hill got and was like...that's a lot to think about. But then he mentioned how he loves winning and being a Kansas City Chiefs player and he's happy there.

Pfizer got lucky hiring Kelce when they did. A lot more people know who he is now. He’s gonna be asking for Taylor Swift boyfriend money from advertisers.

After the Chiefs went up 17-0 after the first quarter, it looked like this game was going to be a curbstomp. However, the Jets showed signs of life in the second, cutting the gap to 17-12 before a KC field goal extended the lead just before the two minute warning.

Funny to see the refs so actively helping the Chiefs...

This one was a weird deal. If you looked at the numbers you would think Pat Mahomed played more like Zach Wilson , while Zach Wilson had more like Mahomes numbers. Its funny considering the comparisons mentioned days ago of the 2 and how this went.

    Its nice its a win.

Bleacher report had a good story up...KC is 3-1 but looks very average on offense and defense at times. The team has no vertical threat with Hill and Shuster gone. The tackle situations aren't good either.

In all KC really needs to get Pat Mahomes a deep threat. So KC should have Pat free up some money and trade for Brandin Cooks from Dallas. Send a 3rd rd pick since Cooks really hasn't been used much.

Props to the Jets for keeping things close when it should've been a beatdown for the Chiefs.

By the by, was there ever an over/under on how many times cameras showed Taylor Swift during the game?

I have no beef with Taylor Swift. I like her music well enough. I get that she's a celeb and the camera will cut to her and the announcers will talk about her. But when the game is 20-20 in the fourth quarter, that is not the time to cut to a sideline reporter for info on her. I may have to avoid Chiefs games for as long as this romance lasts. Which will be easy unless it's the playoffs.

I'm thrilled my Titans defeated the Bengals 27-3. 2 reasons why I'm not overreacting to the Titans steamrolling what is most likely a bad Bengals team is because they haven't shown the ability to win on the road, and they haven't consistently won games.
Also, the Titans did get the benefit of Burrow who is recovering from an injury that happened in training camp, and most likely he's fearful of getting injured in the regular season so it really wasn't a surprise that Burrow didn't run vs. the Titans.

The Cowboys had a great rebound game since they steamrolled the hapless Patriots 38-3 in a game which is the worst loss for Coach Belichick because of the margin which is 35.
It was an awful performance by Jones who was responsible for 3 turnovers.
It's not an overreaction to say the 1-3 Patriots are a terrible team that most likely won't make the Playoffs. The Patriots will be competing to be less terrible than the Jets in the AFC East.

The Patriots with Jones as the QB have never shown the ability to come back to win games.
The Patriots defense hasn't shown to be reliable because they've given up more than 20 points in 3 of 4 games, and the Patriots haven't shown the ability to score more than 20 points this season.

    Some NFL News...

    - Chicago is trying to trade Claypool now due to his really giving up on the team in games. Claypool himself has said he doesn't feel he's in the right spot for success in the league there.

The team is looking to trade him and the asking price is a 6th or 7th rd pick. KC needs a #1 guy to break through for Mahomes and Claypool with his size and speed flashed tons of potential. Plus Reid has a history of working with players who have issues and turning them around (Tyreek Hill). Its clear that Pat Mahomes can only do so much with this core of WR's and he needs a #1 guy now more than ever.

    - Pro Bowl TE and star of the 1970s and 1980s on San Francisco Russ Francis died in a plane crash today. Francis was one of the best TE's in the league and really started a tradition of great play there when the 49ers traded for him in 1980 off the Patriots.

    He was 70 years old.

The Seahawks are not a great team so the Giants tonight have a realistic chance of keeping the game competitive, also a realistic chance of defeating the Seahawks.

Geno Smith left tonight’s game against the Giants with what looks like a knee injury. But, Drew Lock came in and helped the Seahawks to a 14-3 lead with the first half winding down.

So NE lost 2 of their 3 best defense to season ending injuries.

    Will they tank!?

    10. Bill Belichik, Patriots : The Patriots finished 8-9 last year and are trying to see if they can’t avoid finishing in the cellar in the AFC East, hoping the Jets don’t get better QB play than well… than what they’re getting. Mac Jones is likely riding out his final year as “the schmuck that had to fill Tom Brady’s shoes and was never gonna anyway”, Ezekiel Elliot isn’t even averaging 40 yards a game at the ripe old age of 28, and this team’s defensive roster is built mostly on bricks made of Darth Hoodie’s arrogance that he needs “smart” players that do what he says, and the wins pile on in. His coaching staff also features former LB Jarod Mayo, his own sons Brian Belichek, Steve Belichek, Steve Belichek’s mullet, and the abject failures Bill O’Brien and Joe Judge.

In their opener… let’s be fair, New England had to go out and play the defending NFC Champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, and after falling behind 16-0, came back to make it to a one score game, which is honestly better than most expected. In Week Two, they did look decent against the Dolphins, but came up short. Maybe the lack of explosive plays, or losing the turnover battle by one are why… because the Patriots were 7-15 on third down. They got a win in Week Three, at least, against the Jets… But this week?

They had to play the Cowboys, who were already salty about losing in Arizona the prior week, and their defense took out all their frustration on their former teammate, Zeke, and turned Mac Jones into Mac & Cheese. Jones had 2 INTs and lost a fumble, leaving New England to again try and see if Bailey Zappe is in fact, and actual player in the league and not a prank perpetrated by the late Marx Brothers. Dallas just wrecked New England, 38-3, and Dak Prescott went out and had a career day against the Pats’ defense.

The Patriots host New Orleans next week, who have their own QB issues… although, I don’t think things are as dismal with their options being Derek Carr in a funk vs. the Crab Burglar/Turnover Machine that is Jaemis Winston. Either of those options sound better than “Jones or Zappe?”

    9. Robert Saleh, Jets: Four plays into this season, Robert Saleh went from “great young coach who might get his team to the Super Bowl” to “guy who might have some explaining to do”… and the only thing that might keep him from getting fired is that everyone agrees, Zach Wilson is the problem.

Now, the catch is, Saleh hasn’t been able to have any member of his coaching staff get this kid playing any sort of respectable football, and he always finds a way to f*** up whatever the rest of the Jets EXTREMELY TALENTED ROSTER have done to still put him in position to win the game. I mean, their one win in the opener was on a punt return…

It's hard to think Saleh’s on the hot seat just yet at 1-3, and it’s mostly that there were higher expectations for this team… they’ll say, “It’s not his fault that Aaron Rodgers went down four plays into the season…” and they’ll be right. They might pull off some swap at the trade deadline to get a DIFFERENT veteran QB in to try and win some games before they’re toast. We dunno who… if it’s Kirk Cousins or they get another team to cough up a starter after a rough start…

But while we think Saleh’s job is still “wait and see” at this time, we will remind everyone that the offense might also be struggling because it’s being run by OC Nathaniel Hackett, who coached Russell Wilson into an oubliette in Denver last season he still hasn’t been located out of, exactly. If the Jets can’t get anything going on the offensive side of the ball, they might fire Hackett after one year (assuming they aren’t still running their team on the whims of Aaron Rodgers).

At the moment, though, he’s here on this list because the Jets aren’t living up to expectations.

    8. Zac Taylor, Bengals : Speaking of not living up to expectations… Before we panic, just remember the Bengals were also 0-2 LAST YEAR, and started the same this year…

Joe Burrow’s still got a nagging calf injury, and doesn’t look right, at ALL. He’s averaging like five yards a pass and doesn’t have the strength with that bad wheel to put the ball down the field, and every defense in the league knows it and is creeping the safeties up to tackle near the line of scrimmage. Two of their three losses are against division opponents. Ja’Marr Chase is calling out all his teammates for shoddy play, and Tee Higgins might miss some time with an injury.

Yesterday, they got boat-raced 27-3 by THE TENNESSEE TITANS? Like, the whole stat on this game was that the Titans were 8-13 on third downs against the Cincinnatti defense, or maybe just that the Bengals were outgained 400-211… we get it if you can’t stop Derrick Henry, but Ryan Tannehill had an okay day against you… how does everything go wrong to this extent?

In any event, I don’t think Taylor is in danger, really. The Brown family fires coaches almost as much as locusts show up. And Taylor had them all the way in the Super Bowl only two years ago. He’d have to burn Paul Brown’s name out of the Ring of Honor with acid for this family to be thinking about handing him a pink slip.

Cincinnatti travels to Arizona this next week, and plays a Cardinals team that most pundits around the league have been impressed with, in spite of their 1-3 record… they’ve been every game going into the fourth quarter so far this season… and if Joe Burrow is still not fully functional, there’s a chance the Bengals could look more like the Bungles again.

    7. Matt LaFleur, Packers: Green Bay last year at one point was 4-8, then went on a win streak that meant going into their season finale, they just had to beat the traditionally lowly Lions at Lambeau to get back into the playoffs. They blew it.

There have been points this year where Jordan Love has looked like he might be at least a capable starter. Maybe not “League MVP” level of talent, but still, he’s had time to sit and learn and he hasn’t blown the Packers’ chances in a game.

This past Thursday night, though… that was not the case.

While Love threw two INTs, everything went wrong for Green Bay in that game. Well, Rudy Ford got a pick on Detroit’s first drive that they converted for a FG, but that’s it. They then gave up 27 unanswered the rest of the first half. The Packers weren’t ready to play… at HOME in a nationally broadcast game. Their vaunted defense gave up 211 yards rushing to the Lions, who officially became the front-runners in the NFC North, and confirmed that the Packers might not be any kind of serious threat in the NFC. Wild Card or otherwise.

This being said, Matt LaFleur can get himself off this list over the next three games… Green Bay plays the Raiders in Vegas, the Broncos in Denver, and then comes back home to play a Vikings team that finally got out of their own way this week. If they’re not over .500 by Halloween, I’d consider that a failure.
