It's always annoyed me that every Heroes 4 Hire incarnation, the cast never really has members who need the money.

It is true they often seem to have a pet millionaire or billionaire, with members like Danny Rand or Dane Whitman.

Then again, the Avengers are that, but even more so. Thor, resources of Asgard. Iron Man, all the moneys. Even Hank and Janet are both well off. T'Challa and Namor are kings. Ditto the X-Men. Warren's got his own company. Xavier's got a mansion, and enough money to buy anything he wants. Ditto Emma, who has had a company and her own college in the past, and still seems to have family money.

And then there are the crazy ones. Lila Cheney has exclusive access to the advanced alien technology and resources of a Dyson Sphere that's basically one giant future-city with the surface area of *six million Earths,* better than anything the Shiar, Skrulls or Kree, put together, could have. Like, just straight past ludicrous speed, right to plaid.

    Agreed. Truly underrated (IMHO):

Yeah, but that's the Avengers. The A-Team, major leagues, etc.

I just want a for hire team that, ya know, needs to be hired

^^^Who would you put on For Hire team, then?

I’ll kick in Demolition Man to start.

    Dunno, honestly.

Tigra as a single mom would be one, not sure about the others

I recall the team that served as bounty hunters during the Civil War era weren't billionaires. Admittedly, that's the only Heroes For Hire run I've ever read.

    ^^^That seems a good choice!
I’ll add Greg Willis AKA Gravity. Powers aside he’s an average young man from Wisconsin who moved to NYC to go to college at NYU. Pretty sure he has student loans to pay off.

While I'd love to add Richard Rider to this team, he doesn't fit. However, I believe Rage would be a good addition to this team!

    ^^^That works!
I actually put Rage on an “A-Team” (along w. Paladin who’s been mentioned in this conversation), which is basically a for hire group. I had him using his money to fund various youth centers in bad neighborhoods anonymously.

This roster looks a little redundant with Herc, Hulk, and Cage. However, I never read the book, so maybe it worked?

Neither Herc or Hulk stuck around long

^^^Unfortunately, in Herc’s case. That was some great Herc!

Indeed. Herc did return ever-so-briefly months before the title folded, though...
