Default How much with the Avengers be downplayed for upcoming MCU synergy?

There's going to be a stronger X-Men push, while no one is saying anything about the Fantastic Four like they didn't say anything before either despite them actually leaving comics for a while, the the past 6 years of X-Men. How will this affect the Marvel Universe namely the Avengers?

We've already seen a shift of downplaying Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and inhumans in Uncanny Avengers. Emma Frost being forced into a marriage with a non X-Men book character isn't anything new since we had Havok/Wasp, Kitty/Starlord, Storm/Black Panther etc., but this is opening a door. And Fall of X is being used to push X-Men into other books more by gettin rid of their isolationist with monarchy status.

you mean downplayed in movies or in publication?

idk if the avengers are going anywhere. That's still the book with all the 1 billion dollar characters. If anything, the X-hype might mean Logan's back on the avengers roster, pulling his usual double duties.

inhumans, tho, are back to being FF's\Marvel cosmic's weirdo characters. Maybe the Gotg will go against the royal family or something

Unlike the X-men, Disney still owns the rights for Avengers so I doubt they will go away.

Yeah, the downplaying of the X-Men and Fantastic Four was a very special case that doesn't apply here.

Also to some extent the Avengers already have been downplayed. Marvel launched a huge revamped X-book line a few years ago while mostly restricting the Avengers to a single team, a far cry from the zillions of Avengers-related titles of a decade ago.

I would expect to see this continue, because the X-Men are usually (not always) bigger sellers than the Avengers and more capable of sustaining a lot of spinoffs. But that will probably happen even when the next Avengers movies come out, just like Infinity War/Endgame didn't lead to anything like the early 2010s Avengers push in the comics.

Now that Disney owns everything, I can't see anything being downplayed.

Yeah, the Avengers lost a lot of prominence compared to their push and it was because they had to market them more since they weren't as big.

The X-Men being pushed now onto Avengers territory is interesting, but I think people just think about what happened to the Fantastic Four as a comparison when they hear "downplayed" and "prominence," as opposed to what it really means. They don't know what those words mean anymore.

Yeah, Marvel has announced two Avengers movies. They consider it a major brand.

The Avengers being the centerpiece of Marve started long before the MCU during Quesada with Ultimates and Disassembled and putting guys like Bendis on Avengers as well as Brubaker, Fraction, JMS, etc on books like Captain America, Iron Man and Thor.

They'll push the X-Men, yes, but Avengers isn't getting buried in the dust. Not when they still have movies.

They're still doing 2 major movies called Avengers. They never lost the rights. Avengers movies haven't bombed or anything. Even when there might not be Avengers movies the brand will continue and there will be "Avengers characters" getting their own projects.

The Avengers are a way to unite different brands. Mutants can be Avengers.

I don't see the Avengers being downplayed at the moment. They were the stars during the peak of superhero movies. Honestly synergy wise they'll probably just start putting Wolverine and Deadpool in everything again.

Yeah, well, the Ultimate line was born to be sell to the Hollywood studios as viable stories. The Ultimates and the New Avengers line were way to reiforce the characters which rigths were still under marvel control to obtain investors for their movies. They wanted to show the characters could be successful in the screen but first they had to make them successful on the pages first.
