Can't say I blame him. I think he saw Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull and said, "Nah, I'm good."

He already has that big fat paycheck after avengers that he can probably afford to retire and enjoy life.

I think he's been a carrying force for the MCU (the first Iron Man movie kicked it all off), but now they are at a point where it doesn't "need" him anymore. I would have no issues with more Iron Man movies but I'd much rather get new exciting stuff like Ant Man, GOTG 2, Black Widow, Black Panther... Cool to see him in 2 more Avengers movies though.

I think they should go the story thread of where he downloads himself to a younger body and bring in a new actor.

I'm fine with three for Stark. RDJr is fantastic but the sequels really have not been.

I think he means that there's no plans for Iron Man 4...yet, or just right now. I bet if they start talking about an Iron Man 4, or recasting, he'll be all over it. He loves being Tony Stark.

To me this just screams "you want to see Iron Man, go watch the Avengers".

If the only times that RDJ shows up as Iron Man is in an Avengers movie, I'm totally down with that. He'll probably get the same pay for less work, so he might be okay with that, too. But there's such a thing as role fatigue, and if he's tired of playing the role or just doesn't prioritize it and wants other opportunities instead, then that's his call.

Let's face it, it has to end some time. The only thing that apparently doesn't is "The Fast & the Furious."

If they plan on doing a Civil war movie then you bring back IM4

IMO, the Iron Man story is told. Those movies were pretty much the driving force to get the MCU off the ground, and I have no doubt that Iron Man will be an important part of the Avengers moving forward (obviously we still have two movies to go, so......), but I don't think we need any more Iron Man outside of that. I honestly think that character has achieved the "less is more" status withing the MCU now.
    I co-host a podcast about comics. Mostly it's X-Men comics of the 90's.

Agreed, plus I think he knows hes getting older so he gotta bow out gracefully while he's on top. I would suggest Hugh Jackman do the same but without Wolverine the X-Men franchise would probably tank since they basically ruined almost every character's chance to be great over there
