JJM of course wrote the first new EU novel, A New Dawn, which was a prequel to Rebels featuring the first meeting of Kanan and Hera, as well as Rae Sloane, an Imperial admiral Disney seemed to use to have more plans for but kind of got lost in the shuffle somewhere especially with heavy reworking of the First Order's origins in Mandalorian and Rise of Skywalker. Before that, he wrote the acclaimed Knights of the Old Republic spin-off comic (A prequel to the games) and also pretty much ended the old canon with KENOBI. He's also written several Star Trek novels, including some connected to the current crop of shows.
The novel seems to tie a bit to the High Republic, dealing with de-commissioning one of the old stations. Some members of the TPM council-including Yoda of course-were also around at that time and have appeared in HR fiction.
Kind of curious if this might feature a new Disney version of the events of the Eriadu trade summit, which is still canon (according to Tarkin, an RPG supplement, SW insider etc.) even though the original novel depicting it, "Cloak of Deception" is not.
