Blazing Skull appeared in five issues of Mystic Comics back in the Golden Age (issues #5-9).
When he next appeared in a new story (now from Marvel Comics), he was one of the Golden Age characters briefly conjured up by the mind of Rick Jones during the "Kree-Skrull War" back in The Avengers #97 (March 1972).

He was hilarious during his time with the "New Invaders" and was one of the best things in the short lived NEW INVADERS series...and especially in the Chuck Austen arc of AVENGERS that set-up the series!
He joined the defenders and was gone after 2 issues. Shame. He would fit well in defenders.
