Yes, they did that recap about Commander Steel when it was wrongly said that he was the one Diana was going to fight, and they put him back in even though he is clearly Sarge Steel. Lazy writers.

It's funny because Diana used to work for Sarge Steel during the Post-Infinite Crisis era and he had a hard-on for capturing Wonder Woman there too.

I suppose you have noticed the dead Amazon, dressed as Wonder Woman, I hope they don't do all of them like that, the assassin from the preview has a costume similar to Diana's, it would be a great lack of imagination for all the Amazons to dress like that.
Something that seems terrible to me is that the deportation is without their children, I suppose because they are American citizens, something for which the US made the cover of all the newspapers a couple of years ago.
I don't know if I'm prepared for so much drama, especially with a monthly publication, I'm already stressed, hahaha.

That's why I like it to be him, during that run he distrusted WW.

Did he never find out that Diana Prince was Wonder Woman? I can't remember.

    nope~
He would be rescued from Metabrawl by Wonder Woman, but his career was over and he had been replaced in his position by Steve Trevor. I don't think hes seen after his rescue.

Gotta say Steel already looks deliciously evil in those panels.

The more I see of this issue the more intrigued I am. I am definitely in (although AXE better have a powerful enough villain waiting in the wings if they expect to physically halt/detain Diana, cuz there is no way in hell Sarge Steel can, unless he has divine assistance).

So I guess we're going with the idea that Amazons have been living in Man's World for longer than the current continuity would imply? Because I feel like they only opened themselves up for a few months between the end of Wilson's run to the start of King's. Unless this is an "everything happened" type thing.

Oh, yeah...I forgot about that! I look forward to seeing how they revamp the team. They certainly had potential and I liked them in the Outsiders book; I always lamented that they were all killed.

Amazons having children raises a lot of questions i hope are addressed.

    A. Are the females considered Amazons by the tribe/Nubia
    B. Do the children get their strength?
    C. Get their immortality?
    D. Are those Amazons still immortal?
    E. Have they left the island forever?
F are they allowed to raise their kids on the island?

All things considered this is prolly good progress for the Amazons mission.

Amazon's settling in, starting lives by meeting people, starting new friends and families, and having children where they pass down their values. Plus if they are active in the community they can help people and at least influence change onto the world even if on a personal level.

In a way it shows that Diana's mission is making progress.

Won't say too much yet but I stayed up late and read it on digital and oh man...it really is so good. I'll say more once more folks have it - there are a lot of things I absolutely loved, though I do have some small nitpicks that may just be a matter of taste - but here are some non-spoiler thoughts out the gate:

    - If you're a big fan of Greg Rucka's first run (as I am), you'll probably love this.

    - Daniel Sampere. What the hell, man.

    - If you're an avowed Tom King hater and really don't vibe with his writing style, this won't convert you. It's a great comic, and a great WW comic specifically, but you could ID it as a Tom King book from space.

If the quality stays consistent this run is a guaranteed all-timer. Need issue #2 stat.
