Well there's always the chance that Spider-man will fail once again in this run and we never have to see Tombstone again. So there's a possible plus.

I wonder if it's going to turn out it was all a false flag and Tombstone just did a repeat of his plan from the outset of this run, setting things up so Spider-Man (and his amazing friends) clear out his competition for him. That ambulance sure got there very quickly, and Peter thinks Shotgun had help. The issue is going to be if Peter's fallen for it...again.

Also if Tombstone did set all this up and Janice was in on it, then that's pretty much her and Randy's relationship DOA, given her dad used their wedding to kick off a mob war. And if it turns out she wasn't, well, things will get very interesting.

Maybe they'll kill Randy. Really drive home the feeling of failure in Peter while they set up the Omni-thwip limit break against the final boss.

Also it would make it a spiritual successor to the original Gang War where the ending put Kingpin back on top, only this time it's Tombstone.

And especially in this run where Wells is probably more invested in Tombstone than giving Spidey a clean win.

Solicitation talk is cheap. Anyone should be able to remember how the conclusion to Dead Language was "the most shocking ASM issue" in decades, or how Chasm's first fight with Spider-Man could 'get rid of Peter Parker forever' and 'cement him in his rogues gallery'. And that's just keeping with this year.
