Thats Checchetto for you, great art but can't keep up with monthly deadlines. I don't think he did 5 consecutive issues of daredevil without a fill in or help after the first arc.

This is the one thing I remember most about the original Ultimate line - delays.

The Ultimates and Ultimate Wolverine/Hulk coming off top of my head, but there were others. Marvel would hold the book, preferring the same team write and draw the whole thing.

Definitely prefer them using guest writers and artists as needed to keep the books flowing. I won't be waiting several months to years between books this time around!

I like the villain designs, bit I wish Spider-Man himself had a more instantly recognisable “Ultimate” look. He looks almost exactly like his 616 counterpart.

I agree. The classic costume is one of the all-time great superhero designs, but I would have liked a more distinct look for this version. On the other hand, I guess the original USM had the same costume, just on a smaller guy.

Second printing was out; that's the one I got.

Its a lot if setup... but man its great. Peter is actually imo the weakest part of the book tho but I feel thats by design.

Uncle Ben and jonah... I almost want them to get a book. Almost wish this ben became the spider, as a younger man. Wouldve been an interesting angle to have a vengeful but righteous spider going after the wrong guy.

But... I get it. Thus is Peter's story. And I can't wait to see where it goes.
