Egg Fu. He has gone through some rework these days.

I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:

Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.

This one aged very poorly and very quickly. Can you guess why?

I’ll don the mask and wear the cape
If I am super, how can I wait?

Hippie styles did make quite the comeback in the 90s. But as always, if you don't think a cover fits the theme or follows the rules, don't vote for it.

    Yes

(To those who may not know: read the story and take a look at when this issue was on sale.)

Nearly all bad ideas seemed like good ideas at the time.

I would not have guessed until looking up the issue. Wow.

The cover is funny. All the characters are looking at Superman except for Batman mugging for the camera. Plus Batman really looks off, like he has gained weight. My immediate guess was that Bruce was pretending to be Clark and they hired some dork to dress as Batman in his stead. Boy was I wrong.

A TV show where you watch people shake hands with Superman? Entertainment standards were pretty low in 1964, weren't they?

That was 1963, good buddy. Advanced cover dating. But, yeah, standards were different.

And they watch other people eating dinner. Remember that trend from a handful of years ago?
