This book does not just offer a lot of racist depictions, it also advertises taking amphetamines, which were still legally available over the counter in 1951.

Hell, people watch a show that consists of other people just watching TV. That's it. That's the show.

In Invaders, it was revealed she murdered an asbestos researcher and his wife, whose child then grew up in the circus. His parents' research had made him a mutant and he became the Torch's sidekick, Toro.

I find it unusual that the original was a woman and the later knockoff was a man. Most every other example is a male original being made a female in a later knockoff character.

The Byrne run of She-Hulk was something best laid aside, overall. I was surprised Disney leaned into it so much in the show. And yes I know this issue was Byrne poking fun at certain tropes with the jumping rope thing. Not sure if he was also self-aware about his own tendencies in that arena or not, but either way his run does nothing for me anymore.

There was a lot more Dan Slott in the plot, the Byrne elements were mostly the breaking the fourth wall stuff.

That one has a long history. In France, people could indulge their curiosity at the “grand couvert,” a ritual in which the king and queen ate their dinner in front of members of the public. The tradition is usually associated with Louis XIV, who dined au grand couvert at Versailles almost every evening, surrounded by his family and a crowd of courtiers.

I still come across fat shaming in RL and on these forums even if the posts were promptly removed. Look at how many liberals still mock Trump for being too fat as he demonstrates another of his insecurities by lying about his weight.

I know it's OT, but fat shaming is still a thing despite the body positivity movement.
