That one has a long history. In France, people could indulge their curiosity at the “grand couvert,” a ritual in which the king and queen ate their dinner in front of members of the public. The tradition is usually associated with Louis XIV, who dined au grand couvert at Versailles almost every evening, surrounded by his family and a crowd of courtiers.

Well, its a bit different if you get to watch them eat and hear a conversation like that. Thats more of a social thing, even though I am sure the peasants couldn't talk with Charles II.

So I looked it up and Korea is still doing this, its called a Mukbang or Meokbang.

I still come across fat shaming in RL and on these forums even if the posts were promptly removed. Look at how many liberals still mock Trump for being too fat as he demonstrates another of his insecurities by lying about his weight.

I know it's OT, but fat shaming is still a thing despite the body positivity movement.

We had a TV when I was younger that was black-and-white and had a record player as part of the entire console.

When Dazzler was created in the disco era, Marvel was going to have a movie and records tie-ins. Bo Derek was going to play her in a movie but the deal fell though.

John Romita JR claims that after the media deal ended and Marvel decided to do the comic anyway, he suggested that they make Dazzler black. He said that the editors were a little out of touch and that he was actually going to night clubs and at the time Grace Jones was a big deal. Of course, they didn't follow his advice...
