    Default Batman @ NYCC 2023

Starting us off with the announcement that DC is relaunching Elseworlds

DC is relaunching the Elseworlds line
The new titles launching the reborn Elseworlds line are:

Batman the Barbarian by The Human Target’s Greg Smallwood
Dark Knights of Steel: Allwinter by Jay Kristoff and Tirso Cons
Green Lantern: Dark by Tate Brombal and Werther Dell’Edera
Batman: Nightfire by Clay and Seth Mann
DC vs. Vampires: World War V by Matthew Rosenberg and Otto Schmidt

Yeah, looks like three star Batman himself, one stars Robin and Harley vs an evil Oracle, one stars Deathstroke, and the other stars a female Green Lantern.

    Nothing there seems remotely interesting.

Hyping up the return of Elseworlds where 4 of the six projects are just sequels is pretty dumb.

Batman the Barbarian and the Gotham by Gaslight sequel sounds interesting. The Green Lantern could be.

I'd like them to revisit the elseworld setting where Superman was in Ancient Rome from the 90s.

It would be even better if Jonah Hex made an appearance in Gaslight.

I admit I'm interested in Batman the Barbarian if only for Greg Smallwood's art.

I guess idea is that Elseworlds "brand" will move units.

Meh, Batman: Nightfire sounds like it could be cool. I'm not a big fan of Batman being temporal but it's fine in alt-u.

At least the art will be phenomenal. I wonder how many years it'll take to complete...
"Has Sariel summoned you here, Azrael? Have you come to witness the miracle of your brethren arriving on Earth?"

"I WILL MIX THE ASHES OF YOUR BONES WITH SALT AND USE THEM TO ENSURE THE EARTH THE TEMPLARS TILLED NEVER BEARS FRUIT AGAIN!"

"*sigh* I hoped it was for the miracle."

Dan Watters' Azrael was incredible, a constant delight and perhaps too good for this world (but not the Forth). For the love of St. Dumas, DC, give us more!!!

It sounds like the only panel that really had any major news was the Superman panel.

All the Batman Elseworlds were it for Batman news .

So, now that everything published counts as having happened, I guess that’ll include Jason surviving DITF once it’s released.

Actually that's the most interesting thing to announced . The issue DC had ready to publish if he had lived . That one book is more interesting than all these ElseWorlds projects that they're publishing . I don't have any interest in getting any of them .
The original Elseworlds books that DC published years ago were usually quite good .

But if Jason had not died would Tim Drake even exist ? Makes you wonder .
