Default Non-Comic Book Villains That Would Make Good Wonder Woman Foes

For fun, I was thinking about bad guys from outside comics that would make fitting enemies for Diana.

    Gozer the Gozarian from Ghostbusters

A (made up) Sumerian destroyer god/being that must be summoned via a ceremony involving possession and demon-dogs and can take any form it wants. You know, if you take away the comical aspects of the original Ghostbusters movie, the actual plot involving Gozer is a pretty straight supernatural horror story that I think would suit Wonder Woman very well as she contends with the Keymaster and Gatekeeper and the cult surrounding them before facing Gozer itself in whatever form it chooses.

Senator Armstrong from Metal Gear Solid

A corrupt US Senator trying to orchestrate political upheaval so he accumulate power and turn the world into his own libertarian fantasy land. There's potential political intrigue that would test Diana's diplomatic skills, and just listen to his big motivation speech and tell me this isn't a guy who would totally worship Ares. He also injected himself with nanomachines to give him superhuman strength and durability, and as he demonstrates in the game, he isn't afraid to throw down.

    Pennywise from It

An ancient, shape-shifting Eldritch being that preys on children by exploiting their fears and eating them. Naturally, Diana would despise anything that hurts young kids, and if you've read the book, Pennywise is terrified of anyone who isn't afraid of it. So their battle would be less about a fist-fight and more about her trying to protect children from it.

A much more powered up Glory from Buffy.
Keep in mind that you have about as much chance of changing my mind as I do of changing yours.

Zamasu, from Dragon Ball Super. At first, he'd she her as a kindred spirit trying to bring peace to the world of mortals, but as more of Zamasu's violent and narcisistc nature is revealed they'd inevitably clash. He'd come to see her as an abomination that is miusing the gifts of the gods.

Bonus points if he become obsessed with her power and tries the Goku Black route.

Loptr from Bayonetta 2. The evil half of the God of Chaos who hates humans for abusing free will and sees them as irredeemable.

God of War's versions of Odin and Zeus could also qualify being even more despicable than the comic version.

Castlevania: Nocturne's version of Erzsebet Bathory would also qualify, being a blood-sucking aristocrat who spoilers:
drank the blood of an Egyptian goddess
    end of spoilers.

Oh and her final form looks like this:

    https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/ca...20231002142348

She's basically what writers should be doing with spoilers:
    Cheetah
    end of spoilers.

The Beast was the guy with the horns, right? I could see that.

    Yep!

Jasmine would also be a good villain. I dont think they really have Diana fight against those who have a warped sense of peace that often, something that she fights for.

Armstrong is peak writing. He's a bad guy with motives and goals, and.... a lot of his actual goals are... reasonable... even... good intentioned. Diana would actually need to make serious choices dealing with him. It's a lesser of two evils thing. Is stopping Armstrong actually the right thing?

Hmm... I kinda think this area's covered. Well, generally, Xena's Callisto was a different motivation, but even so...

I think Kratos could make a good WW villain.

Another fun one would be Princess Mombi, the headswapping sorceress from Return to Oz.

The game is not exactly subtle that Armstrong is full of shit and actually has no basis to his plans. He was very clearly shown as being wrong in every way.

I am not sure why you think he even had some good points.

Fall of the House of Usher had Madeline Usher played by Mary McDonnell was such a picture perfect Veronica Cale I just... wow. She's ruthless, efficient, cunning, brilliant, a full bad bitch, and I loved every scene she was in. Her obsession with AI and science and a way to gain immortality. The usage of ancient Egyptian art and culture surrounding the dead and royalty. And that final monologue about her twisted view on consumerism, just icing on the cake. And to top it all off, she's even the COO of a pharma company. I just I need this in Cale.

From the myths; Scylla and Charybdis.

For an even more off beat choice; Judge Doom from 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit?'. WW fighting an unkillable toon should be fun to watch.

His point about the nature of the military industrial complex. It's a recurring theme in Metal Gear. People spend absurd amounts of money on war machines that are absurdly over-the-top powerful... and expensive. But it's more due to profiteering to sell war as a product than genuine need for them. Armstrong's not the only character who talks about it openly. I think his plan was insane, but warmongering so you can get paid to build more weapons... is also insane... and not even all that rare in Metal Gear.
