I totally agree with your points. But practically it was not possible. Its like if someone is a comic reader and the issues dont come out for long periods of time and they have labor issues. Its going to screw everything up. The MCU probably more than any franchise depends on momentum and consistency. And it just wasnt/ isnt possible in this current climate. That sucks.

Definitely one of the problems with the MCU now is the challenge of having the MCU start out with everything so connected and intertwined, and now moving to a more diverse universe where thats not the case so much. With so many characters to keep up with, if you don't show one of them for a long while, people kind of forget about them. And the more characters that are added, the more the problem gets worse.
Its a good thing though, for those of us who just want to see our favorite character get a movie or show and don't care if that character helps to defeat the Thanoses of the world down the line.
Every day is a gift, not a given right.
His movie came out in 2021. He probably won't be in any of the movies next year. If he shows up in 2025 that's a 4 year gap. Too long.
I really feel bad for Brie Larson. Tiny cameo in the end credits of Shang-chi and Ms. Marvel after a big build up of her character. No other note-worthy appearances. Need more screen time for audiences to care about these characters.
I guess this movie will be a test of whether Marvel still has some life in it. Of course there was Covid and the Writer's strike and the Actor's strike and streaming, all of which needs to be looked at with MCU movies being compared to all other movies at the theater in the present.
Power with Girl is better.
I don't think Marvel is the problem here. It's Hollywood. They keep shitting out sequels, prequels, spinoffs and reboots. How many Fast & Furious, Mission Impossible, and Marvel movies have come out lately? Why are TV networks rebooting Matlock and Frasier? I'm not surprised that documentaries and podcasts are gaining in popularity because some of the shit they discuss is actually original.

When Shang-chi got banned from China that was it for the franchise and the character. Marvel can't put him in as a cameo and not have him risk the entire movie not getting a release. The actor who plays the character has actually complained too that he hasn't gotten a chance to play the character. It's pretty sad really.

I can tell you the answer.
Studios would RATHER use what they have 100% ownership than PAY for a new idea.
Lets do an example-
You are Marvel you want to do a movie about a black boy with electricialish powers.
Do you PAY Milestone to use Static?
Do you create a new character and "waste" time doing development from scratch?
Do you look at the roster and see Living Lightning (who is NOT black), Black Panther's nephew Kwezi, Troop from 90s Luke Cage series and Rayshaun Lucas from Falcon's solo.
Hello Living Lightning who is now Kwezi from Wakanda and nephew to Shuri in the movie and tossed into the Black Panther comic and comic stores get to jack up his first appearance in Ms Marvel.
It's all about what the studios have ownership over and how they can twist it to whatever they want.
It's how you get a Jem movie pretending to be Hannah Montana with more girls.
It's how you get Masters of the Universe 2 becoming Cyborg with Van Damn.
You're not even using a good example, why would Marvel pay Milestone a company owned by DC their main competitor instead of simply making their own character?
The analogy you're trying to use makes no sense.
Why is it every time I see you post you're just always lying and flat out making things up?
No Shang-Chi's character isn't done you're making things up and talking things you don't know anything about for the sake of it.
I also believe it was a big mistake to make the Disney+ shows so vital for the overarching plot. I can't believe they are practically introducing the main villain for the new saga and its majot plot line in a Disney+ show, that's absolutely stupid. That's like introducing Thanos' search for the Infinity Stones in Agents of SHIELD. Many people don't want to sign up for Disney+ and if it's necessary to see the shows to be able to follow the movie arc then they'll rather stop watching the movies than being forced to watch TV shows they don't care about.
The Disney+ shows should have been used to give side characters who can't carry a cinematic solo release character development in stories that don't impact the overarching MCU plot much.
Tolstoy will live forever. Some people do. But that's not enough. It's not the length of a life that matters, just the depth of it. The chances we take. The paths we choose. How we go on when our hearts break. Hearts always break and so we bend with our hearts. And we sway. But in the end what matters is that we loved... and lived.
I can see why Fiege decided to introduce Kang through the TV series at the end (Kang's reveal at the end of season 1 , Ant Man 3 full appearance ) . Thanos had came through end of the movies and they wanted to do things a bit different on his introduction as the new BIG BAD.
Plus this method also worked for Scarlet Witch and the Multiverse of Madness we saw. They used that TV series to push that character as the big villain ahead in Doctor Strange. And it was a success. So they felt it would work again. (And beyond Majors issues off camera , people were getting pumped for what Kang would do)
