It does, I loved the novel. They did a miniseries in the 80s with Richard Chamberlain that was just so-so. This looks better.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

Oooh? This is that adaptation? Color me interested.

I really loved the Richard Chamberlain adaptation and this trailer just looks so promising, I'm so excited!!!

My only worry is that they are trying to redo something that was great (at least for the time). Remaking stuff that borders on a classic can often end up.....well, take a look at the Ben-Hur remake to see how bad it can get.

I'm still intrigued, and hopeful. Just....cautiously so.

The story was written on a Westerner's perspective of Japanese culture.

I watched the miniseries a long time ago. It was fairly good.

I remember the mini-series as well. And remember enjoying it.

I weirdly have never seen the old one, or read the book. I wonder if I'd like this new one? Sounds like the sort of thing I'd like; might give this a look.

I've watched both episodes twice and man this show has me hooked! It is well done.

I never have read the book so I found it this weekend and am looking forward to it as well.

I agree. The Percy Jackson series also seemed to require some time to get traction on these boards.
