Happy this is finally ending. Sad that it will hurt the chances of a well-made take on the team any time soon.
Segovia and these characters deserved better.
So, this is how it ends...
So much potential wasted...
"Never assign to malice what is adequately explained by stupidity or ignorance."
"Great stories will always return to their original forms"
"Nobody is more dangerous than he who imagines himself pure in heart; for his purity, by definition, is unassailable." James Baldwin
Rosenberg seemed like one of the few DC writers that caed enough to pitch a book with them, which is why he got hired for this gig(and the grifter stories he did beforehand.)
I do hope with a authority movie happening, DC decides to really put some effort into their next relaunch.
does the team all die?
where do they show up next?
what about Gen 13? are they still in limbo?
Maybe putting the C.A.T.S against the Suicide Squad would be a good idea. They give off similar vibes.
As a big 'C.A.T.S fan, the whole book was an utter disappointment. I came in ready to love it (I think some of the stuff Rosenberg wrote for the X-office, like New Mutants: Lost Souls and Multiple Man, was actually pretty good) but only found sub-par writing, unreletable characters, an infinite loop of cameos created for shock value only - such a clusterfuck that not even the pretty art and the strong and simple original concept for the book could not save it.
And what annoys me is that this botched attempt has probably killed any appetite from DC to relaunch the book again anytime soon - only James Gunn's interest in adapting the property could save it at this stage.
It depends on what Authority team James Gunn put in play, I guess.

Whatever we get next I just hope its not Grifter being a total spotlight black hole
Grifter spent too much time with Batman.

I tried to give this book the benefit of the doubt for like seven issues. Twelve issues in and all I can say is that it's trash...perfunctory, joyless storytelling that goes nowhere and accomplishes nothing. I am legitimately curious how Matthew Rosenberg works in the industry...and why DC produced this at all.
