I will say this- it's about having more diverse lead material out there if you are Marvel. Especially if you have something in development or you MIGHT have something in the future.

You don't want a Monica or Vixen or WORST John Stewart and Cyborg situation where they are on tv or in movies and you have NOTHING in book form to toss on the shelves.

Because even if the movie or show bombs- those trades do get a sale boost as Black Panther and Eternals and Thanos trades proved.


Also remember some of these books we are seeing are NOT books that a writer is pitching.

Some of it is the editors and some have a reason for it.

The Gwenpool mini by Leah Williams was NOT pitch by her. Editorial gave that to her for this reason-Disney executives wanted her gone. Because they didn't understand her appeal. With all the merchandise Gwenpool has, Marvel refused. It's also why you haven't seen her as much since.

Thrash was in the unreleased New Warriors book and was suppose to have a role in Outlawed that Covid derailed. I want to say he was in one of the Marvel Voices

We got an action figure of him in 2019.

So it has not been that long.

Despite my not liking the new helmet design (Guardian anyone?) i'm going to give this a chance. I've always liked the general character design.
